Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day filled with great food, loved ones, and comfy pants!

We're spending today with Doug's parents and grandma. She's making the main dish and we're bringing the sides and sweets (my area, of course!). And I'm hoping to catch some of the parade, I adore the parade - especially the big balloons. My favorite is always the Snoopy balloon

What's your favorite part of the parade?

Have a great day!!

Things I Love About Fall #2

What else do I love about fall?

Today!! Because it's my birthday!

That's right. I'm one of those annoying people who love their birthday. Now, I'm not one of those people who tells everyone (ummm, minus this post I suppose, lol) and expects to get a happy birthday back. But I just love this day. My favorite number is 18, so that makes it even better.

Besides, my birthday equals getting mail that doesn't require me to send back a payment (yay for cards!), cake (mmmm, cake), and Doug making dinner (woot!). So what's not to love about birthdays? And if I come home tonight to find the New Moon cd waiting for me? Even better! Also, Sarah's taking me to see New Moon as my gift - yay!

Ok, off to justify a bite of birthday cake with breakfast.

What I Read in October

October was not a very good month book-count wise. Because An Echo in the Bone was so big and it took me a while to read it I only managed to get 3 books read. I've got to kick it up in November! I've surpassed my original goal of 50 by I'm still shy of my second goal of 75. I'm up to 58 now.

In October I read

The Outlandish Companion by Diana Gabaldon. This talks about the first 4 book in the Outlander series: the characters, the history, her research methods, and what led her to writing these books. I thought it was very interesting.

An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon. The most recent book in the series. Totally loved it.

Twilight by Stephanie Myers. This was a re-read. I'm getting ready for the release of the New Moon movie. So that book is next up for me I think. This one is my second favorite in the series (I like the third one best) but I think it's really good.

Here's to more reading in November!
